I thought the ID thing was eliminated post Al-Taif.

I didn't think that doctors treat patients only of their own ethnicity. It's morally wrong.

So sad how the world moves backward.

Dear CP,

(1) These posters are part of a sectarianism awareness campaign. NONE of those billboards, signs, etc. actually exist in Lebanon.

(2) Religious identification on IDs was scrapped after the Civil War.

Thanks for the clarification. Yes, I did get that, but I do not think it's a smart way of showing sectarianism through such fabricated signs, as outsiders will not understand the meaning behind it. They will immediately assume that these signs do exist just like they have had in the former Yugoslavia.

Although the signs do not exist, unfortunately these sectarian divides do exist, and I do know a Lebanese doctor who has had people ask her if she only treats patients of her own religious sect.

Dear CP,

in Lebanon - where this campaign is running - everyone immediately gets the idea.

In the Lebanese blogosphere there was nobody who brought up your concern - simply because it wasn't an issue.
